Only context generates meaning
“A lot of market research is based on interpreting single pieces of information with purely statistical analysis. The context which is automatically and abundantly delivered during conversations – when one listens actively – is by contrast the real and more relevant natural source for meaning.”

Results for corporate realities & practice
The results gained by STORYlistening® are comprehensive, insightful, descriptive and tangible. More importantly, Schindl Rughase Partners always connect the results to strategic decisions and tangible actions. This connection makes the STORYlistening® results so valuable for decision-makers in companies, because the practical use becomes immediately visible which is rarely the case with strategic questions.
The results are presented in a compact workshop to the decision-makers, respectively the management team, and contain the following three important elements:
- Visual images of the content and context using “Concept Maps”
- Clear finding-statements which are derived from the results and provide orientation
- Support for decisions and tangible actions which are based on the results
Being an experienced company developer Schindl Rughase Partners can on the one hand, continually ensure the strategic perspective and on the other hand, make sure that during STORYlistening® the connection between strategic insight and appropriate decisions or tangible actions never comes up too short. This differentiates STORYlistening® distinctly from classical market research.
The three essential elements of the results in detail
Concept Maps – making context visible
STORYlistening® delivers comprehensive, insightful and detailed contexts. At the same time there are many references within the individual lifeworlds. This can quickly become quite complex. Of course, not every customer is the same, but so-called patterns emerge step by step. These patterns are formed because often a series of customers have very similar motivation and decision-drivers or even similar assessments – or describe similar contexts of justification. Each pattern is visualised through a “Concept Map”. These “Maps” describe graphic contents, contexts and connections. This form of depiction ensures a rapid and accurate in depth understanding for the customers’ lifeworld.
Clear insight statements
Schindl Rughase Partners condense the essential insights into clear, understandable and manageable statements. This format makes the comprehensive and detailed STORYlistening® information concerning the lifeworld of customers manageable and practical. These statements can always be tracked through the results of the “Concept Maps”.
The insight statements are also the basis and starting point of and for decisions and tangible actions. To develop and integrate them requires experience and strategic know-how and is the core element of the results.
This is only possible because of the many years of experience obtained by Schindl Rughase Partners in their positions as CEO, management executives and lecturer for Strategy, Business Model Innovation and Change Management and makes the difference compared to the purely analytical statistic procedure.
Supporting decisions and enabling tangible actions
STORYlistening® was developed especially for strategic decision making within a company and therefore accurately delivers the necessary and fitting information, which are essential when answering strategic questions.
Schindl Rughase Partners directly support the decision-making process in a workshop, to ensure tangible results or actions.
Strategic competence
“Because we have been working for 30 years in the fields of Strategy, Change Management and Corporate Development within numerous industries, we can listen from a strategic perspective quite differently when analysing, interpreting or assessing. STORYlistening® was developed especially for this strategic perspective which makes it rather unique.”
